Clare Rojas is an artist, currently based in San Francisco/Marin and is part of the Part of the Mission School Art Movement - Clare is "known for creating powerful folk-art-inspired tableaus that tackle traditional gender roles." She works in a variety of media, including painting, installations, video, street art, and children's books. She has had solo exhibitions at: the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; IKON Gallery in Birmingham, England; the Museum Het Domein in the Netherlands; the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University in Massachusetts; Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia; the Ulrich Museum of Art in Wichita, Kansas; the Knoxville Museum of Art in Tennessee; Belkin Satellite, in Vancouver; and the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Art in San Francisco. Her work is also permenently apart of collections in the MoMA in New York; SFMOMA in California; the Dakis Jannou Collection in Athens, Greece; the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León in Spain; the Progressive Art Collection in Cleveland; the San Jose Museum of Art in California; the Berkeley Art Museum in California; and the Smart Museum at the University of Chicago.
