Elza Sunderland Mask Set
Fabric face coverings made from 100% cotton. Choose between small, medium and large size, and elastic straps that go over your head or loop around your ears. Printed, cut and sewn in San Francisco. Mask set contains two masks.
The print on these masks is sourced from Elza Sunderland, Textile Design, 'Prisms', as part of the Elza Sunderland Textile Design Collection at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. These masks and bandanas are a special collaboration between the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Open Editions featuring seven of Sunderland's prints from their textiles collection. See the entire group of masks and bandanas here.
Sunderland, also known as "Elza of Hollywood," was an American textile artist. She was a leader in the Los Angeles textile and apparel industry in the 1940s and '50s and produced more than two hundred textile designs during her nearly forty-year career.
These masks are made from two layers of 100% cotton, are for personal use only, and cannot be returned or exchanged. Please wash before using; wash and air dry between uses. The print will fade with repeated washing. These masks are not a substitute for N95, surgical, or procedural masks, are not intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure any disease or health condition, and are not FDA approved. They are not intended for use by children under 12 years old. While wearing any mask, you should follow the C.D.C.'s guidelines to maintain social distancing, wash hands thoroughly, and not touch your face. Made in San Francisco by Open-Editions.

- Made from two layers of a tight weave 100% cotton.
- Size info and photos here.
- Masks are steam ironed before mailing. Please wash and dry them before using, and wash and dry, or thoroughly steam iron them between uses. Print will fade with repeated washing. We recommend washing masks in a mesh bag as you would wash delicates, or hanging to dry to prolong the lifespan as the elastic straps can get caught in washing machines.
- Masks have a wire nose bridge which helps keep the top part of the mask snug to the nose. Adjust this by gently bending the wire to fit your face/nose.
