Elana Cooper
Elana Cooper is primarily known for her striking, large-scale floral silhouettes, though animals are also a common subject of her work. Cooper paints in bold strokes, typically rendering background and foreground subject matter in contrasting color fields, giving her representational work an abstract quality. Drawing from a journal of floral imagery, Cooper has realized her silhouettes in ink, watercolor, acrylic, and even as 3-D wood cutouts. They have also have been commissioned as large-scale public murals, and, in 2020, her iconic flower designs were reimagined as part of an interactive digital installation created with Ana Teresa Fernández for the exhibition “Here From There / De Aquí Desde Allá.” Cooper began working with Creativity Explored studio in 2013.
