Mary Elizabeth Yarbrough
Mary Elizabeth Yarbrough is a multidisciplinary visual artist with a background in sculpture, music, furniture making, and exhibit development at the Exploratorium, a hands-on science museum in San Francisco. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, she received her MFA in Furniture Design from California College of the Arts in 2002. Her works explore language, cliché, pop culture, iconography, repetition, and design through a variety of media, including acrylic, tape, paper, wood, sound, and performance. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including New Langton Arts and the Luggage Store in San Francisco; New Image Art in Los Angeles; Kunsthalle Fridericianum in Kassel, Germany; and the Hara Museum in Tokyo. She is a recipient of an Arteles Creative Center residency in Hämeenkyrö, Finland, and two San Francisco Arts Commission Individual Artist Grants. Yarbrough lives and works in San Francisco.
