Mary Elizabeth Yarbrough / Drops Embroidered Sweatshirt (White Thread Embroidery)
White embroidery on white sweatshirt / White Embroidery on Black Sweatshirt
Mary Elizabeth Yarbrough's Embroidered Sweatshirts are inspired by original artwork from her series 'Never Gonna Let You Go'. In this series, Mary Elizabeth explores lyrics found in love songs in order to tease out deeper meaning from oft-sung clichés. The work is spurred by an interest in the limitations of English language to express love, lust and heartache in all its universally-experienced permutations.
